About me

My love for animals began at a young age, igniting a desire to help them through my work. I began taking riding lessons at my local riding centre when I was 11 years old and quickly became obsessed.

I began collecting animal related qualifications at the age of 17. Starting with a level 3 animal management qualification at college before I began a more practical qualification via an apprenticeship at a riding school in Northampton. During my time there, I met a lot of wonderful people, many with decades of experience in the equine industry. Whilst there I learned a lot and solidified my desire to help animals.

In 2015, I moved to Warwickshire and began a BSc in Equine Therapy and Rehabilitation at university. I learned a lot about mammalian anatomy, biomechanics (which I'm fascinated by), massage, alternative therapies and veterinary medicine, as well as how to create appropriate rehabilitation and prehabilitation plans. During this time I continued to work in the equine industry alongside my studies,  putting what I had learned into practice.

In 2018 I moved back home to the West Midlands having completed my bachelors degree and started working at a boarding kennels. The kennels took on both cats and dogs, which gave me the opportunity to work with both. We'd had a number of cats and dogs as family pets whilst growing up, but this new role gave me the chance to experience handling other people's animals. It was really beneficial to experience animals with a variety of temperaments, energy levels and those who had different starts in life.

Fast forward a couple of years and I was ready to get back into education. I wanted to build on my experience and current skill set. I chose to further my education in manual therapies, and continued my university education in Oxfordshire where I qualified as a veterinary chiropractor using the McTimoney technique.
